Review: Elemis Tan Accelerator

For those of you who are lucky enough to be getting away on a last minute or winter holiday, check out elemis's tan accelerator. this product has been around for a while but this summer is the first time ive used a tan accelerator and i have to say, ill be purchasing again for my next holiday!

With the depressingly average weather in britain this summer, me and my boyfriend decided to get a last minute weeks holiday to eygpt :) me switching into holiday mode, spent the majority of my revision leave from uni, researching tan accelerators!! elemis seemed to have alot of decent reviews and alot of people rated it highly so i thought id give it a go!

Soo elemis says that this product works by drawing the melanin in our skin to the surface meaning that it can tan quicker. I remember reading somewhere that for every hour you spend in the sun, your skin will tan like its been in the sun for 3 hours with this product on, with none of the extra damage!

I must admit, im not crazy about the smell, it smells quite nutty and a tad chemical but after its been applied, the smell fades out. it's quite runny but it sinks in well and a bit goes a long way! The back says to start appling it daily 1-2 weeks before your holiday in order to give it time to draw the melanin up. i applied it at night to give it time to sink in proparly.

At first, i didnt notice much of a diffrence. the first day or so, i didnt seem to be getting much of a tan atall and then suddenly i started getting a tan that i only normally get in the second week of a holiday. I wish i could say im able to lay out all day but truth is im more of a pool girl myself so i was very impressed with the results sinse i was only sunbathing proparly for a few hours a day! by the end of the holiday i had a tan i would normally only have at the end of a 2 week hoiday.

Although, you can use this as an aftersun aswell, i used a different one as i didnt find it soothing enough for an aftersun!

You can probably purchase this anywhere that sells other elemis products such as house of fraser and john lewis, i also know that QVC have an ongoing deal where you can buy 2 for £27 but the cheapest place ive been able to find this is from http://www.feelunique.com/ for £18 including p&p. i brought 2 bottles but by the end of my holiday i hadent even finished the first one so it does last a long time!

Happy Tanning !!

*sigh*
